The city-wide turnout in yesterday's election was low, as only 34.2% of eligible voters cast their votes. Although this topped the 2007 turnout of 31.9%, when Sebastian Giuliano ran unopposed for reelection as mayor, it pales in comparison to the turnout in 2005 (45.9%) and 2003 (40.9%), when Giuliano challenged incumbent mayor Domenique Thornton.
There was considerable variation in turnout between districts: only 16% of voters (out of 722) cast a ballot in District 13 (eastern portion of Bielefield School), while 47% of voters (out of 1633) voted in District 9 (Wesley School).
The map of districts won by each candidate shows a consistent pattern: Dan Drew found his strongest support in the center core of the City, while Giuliano carried the generally more populated districts in the west and the south.

Love that photo of the goat....there are lots of those around sadly far too many in politics. I hope this is medicine for a good laugh...
