Poet's Corner Special Event

Middletown's Poet Laureate Susan Allison will present her monthly 'Poet's Corner' with a specific topic:
Writers Resist!

Writers Resist is an online literary collective founded in response to the 2016 presidential campaign and election.
Write Our Democracy is a project to get the stories of immigrants into the mainstream media.
Writers are asked to tell their own stories or write the story of someone they know and submit it to Writers Resist.

The purpose of this event is to create a place for writers who feel, along with others, that democracy is running amok. They may also feel that our basic civil rights are threatened.

Participation does not require anything more of you than to attend. You can read, write, listen, and meet other writers who share your concerns. There will be open mic beginning approximately at 1:30 p.m. and lasting until 3:00 (or longer).

This event will be held in the
Hubbard Room of the Russell Library,
Friday - February 17 - beginning at 1 p.m.
