Solarize Middletown will host a Solar Lunch and Learn in partnership with the Wesleyan Sustainability Office on Wednesday, November 16th at noon at Allbritton 103 within Wesleyan University. The event is free and open to the public. The discounted Solarize pricing is offered to all Middletown residents, as well as anyone who works in Middletown and lives within Connecticut.
Jen Kleindienst, Wesleyan’s Sustainability Director, comments “We are working to increase sustainability on campus and throughout the entire Middletown community. Solarize Middletown is part of an ongoing City-supported effort to help residents make smart energy choices. Taking advantage of Connecticut’s Home Energy Solutions program to seal drafts and insulate, and generating your own clean energy through solar reduces your carbon footprint. As more and more people take these steps, we move closer to a sustainable future.”
RSVP at http://bit.ly/WesleyanSolar by 8:30 AM on Monday, 11/14 to get free lunch. If you RSVP after then or do not RSVP, you are welcome to attend, but lunch may not be available. To participate in the benefits offered through the program, residents must commit to going solar by February 3rd, 2017.
Those who cannot attend the midday Lunch and Learn are invited to an evening Solarize Middletown workshop on Thursday, November 17that 7 pm at The deKoven House.
