Jan. 5 Common Council & Other Updates

At the Monday, 7 p.m. Council meeting, the Re-funding of the critical position of "Environmental Planner" is on the agenda.  (Questions to Directors" begins at 6 p.m.)  To learn more, go here.

(Note: The Finance & Government Operations (F&GO) Commission recently voted 3-2 against re-funding. Nevertheless, the matter will be decided by the entire Council.)

The Purchase of the Pierce Property will not be on the agenda on Jan. 5, because it was tabled by the F&GO commission.  For more on this topic, go  here.

I would like to know why the Council decided to defund the Environmental Planner position in the current budget. Who pushed this opinion last April during budget deliberations? Why was the Conservation Commission not advised that this position was in jeopardy? These are the questions that make me angry.
