Middletown Ranks #2 in Bike Walk CT Survey.

Middletown’s Complete Streets Committee urges everyone who lives and/or works in Middletown to fill out Bike Walk CT's survey on local conditions for walking and bicycling.  This will help us identify areas where sidewalks, intersections, and streets are most in need of improvement. Your participation in the survey will also be a sign of public support for these efforts. Currently, Middletown’s participation in the survey ranks #2 in the state, behind West Hartford, with Hartford and New Haven nipping at our heels.  If you haven’t completed the survey yet, please go to http://www.bikewalkct.org/news/top-20-towns-as-of-june-13 and check out the standings; then complete the survey as someone who  lives or works in Middletown.  The survey closes at the end of Sunday, June 15. Thanks!

The work begun by a few biking citizens a few months back, looking at particular intersections, was far more useful. Each person chose a particular location they found troublesome and offered a solution.

This survey is pointless. It is too general. It uses general questions for every city in the state. Here in Middletown there are 119 miles of streets in the city: how are we supposed to rate over a hundred miles? Let's do our own.

Agreed. Much too general, with "one size fits all" choices. But the response rate is good anyway. But how is it that West Hartford is winning? Come on people! Let's kick some bourgeois butt!
