The Buttonwood Tree, just a long block up from Washington St., in Middletown's North End, is on the verge of a North End breakout and surrounded by good food, good greens, and good vibes.

The centerpiece is the good vibes, this Friday evening, 7-9pm, at The Buttonwood Tree, a fundraiser for TBT, with Bob Gotta performing .

Excerpted from TBT's Facebook page and other places:

Join us for a night of acoustic music, with all proceeds being donated to support Buttonwood Tree programming. Take some time to decompress and listen to some great music during this busy time of year.
Local musician, Bob Gotta, has been a pillar in Middletown's musical community for decades, hosting one of the longest running open mics in history. His energetic, soulful, and lucid approach appeals to audiences of all kinds. Bob has been a generous donor to the Buttonwood Tree through the years.
If you can’t attend but wish to support, feel free to make a donation from the TBT events page .

The Food
It's Only Natura Market (ION Market) across Liberty Street and ION Restaurant, down a ways on the opposite side of Main Street. The ION establishments, provisioners of natural foods and treats (one on shelves and the other, on plates) are close enough for convenient lunches, for north enders from The Community Health Center (CHC) network of buildings, and locations, including the CHC Knowledge and Technology Center on Grand Street, and the up-and-coming CHC urban greenhouse, and for students and others walking up from Main Street central.

And the Greens

The urban garden dig at Grand & Main
streets. is set to change the landscape
in Middletown's North End.
You might have noticed a foundation rising and dirt in transit from the ground as you head west on Grand Street. That's where CHC's urban greenhouse will reside and bring "big changes to Middletown’s North End" (per Steven Goode's article [and photo, at left] of 12/04/2025 in The Middletown Press [ see CHC Greenhouse in Middletown's North End] for more on

the urban greenhouse at Grand
    and Main streets.
