"A Mystery Murdered: A Virtual Play" this Friday

Oddfellows Playhouse Teen Repertory Company presents “A Mystery Murdered: A Virtual Play”, by Karl Garner, on Facebook Live this Friday, December 4 at 6:30 pm.

“A Mystery Murdered” is a 2020 one-act parody of the Murder Mystery genre, created specifically for virtual performance. It features all the classic elements of a murder mystery – a wealthy gentleman who mysteriously shows up dead, a fiancée, an ex-fiancée, a business partner, a mysterious friend, and, of course, a butler.

The play is directed by Oddfellows Program Manager Jacqueline Brown and is being produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service. The cast includes Trinity Norfleet, Lucy Zajack and Artemis Trowbridge-Wheeler, all from Middletown; Kate Yurasek of Chester; Sofia Hurlbert of Durham; and Emily LaValley of Rocky Hill.

The play will run about 40 minutes and will include a short “talkback” with the cast and staff after the show. The performance is appropriate for all ages.

The 2020 Teen Repertory Company at Oddfellows is made possible by support from the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch; The Fund for Greater Hartford; Connecticut Office of the Arts/DECD; Middletown Commission on the Arts; Middletown Youth Services Bureau; Community Foundation of Middlesex County; Thomas J. Atkins Memorial Fund; American Savings Foundation; New England Foundation for the Arts Resilience Fund; Maximilian E. and Marion O. Hoffman Foundation; and many generous donors.
