Mayor to Teach Spring Semester Undergrad Course at Wesleyan

For the second time, Middletown mayor Dan Drew will be teaching a course at Wesleyan University. This Spring, Drew will teach "Group Psychology in Politics: Local, State and National Perspectives."  The half-credit course is open to undergrads and will meet for three hours every Friday from 1:20-4:10 PM, from January 24th through March 8th.

Nice to see that the education that we taxpayers paid for, is paying off for him. Is he taking personal or vacation time to do this?

3 big issues and points to consider:
1. This clearly violates the city charter that says being mayor is a full time job
2. Consider the ethics conflict of having a mayor who impacts and sets public policy that could favorably impact or benefit Wesleyan taking money from that institution...which employer will drew serve? He obviously has no regard regard for ethics...
3. What does the female staff and students think of a man teaching that clearly disregards and degrades women. He has 1 lawsuit against him by the old MAT director, 23 employees that said he was vulgar and demeaning to women, and at least 2 women with open gender human rights claims against him for attacking them. Most recently he has tried to out the employees who had the courage to speak out. Why is Wesleyan hiring him?
...I call on President Roth to end this disgusting insult to women! Or explain why he is teaching here.

1. I don't think the city charter defines full time as 24/7.
2. I don't think the pay for a half-credit course will come very close to his city salary. By the way, do you know he's even getting paid?
3. Leave it up to the students.

We paid for it? See #1 above.

Hey, Ed. Where's the outrage for Anonymous??

This is crazy. It should be discussed if he's being paid. Is he using vacation time to do this. Also anonymous number one I agree with your points on ask the complaints this man has against him but Wesleyan hired him...I wonder if he were a republican with these issues if Wesleyan would've hired him....hmm. and anonymous number two you called out anonymous one but then you stay anonymous. Just sayin'
