This is a special program dedicated to PA 13-181:
An Act Authorizing the Establishment of Historic Preservation Commissions

State enabling legislation already allows communities to create local historic districts and local historic properties, but more than 75 percent of Connecticut's historic buildings and sites remain unprotected!  This bill offers protection of these sites by functioning in parallel to local historic districts where they exist, or as the only preservation commission in the 91 towns and cities that do not have local historic districts.

Join us for a discussion of the Connecticut Trust’s model preservation ordinance. Find out about other community preservation tools including demolition delay, blight ordinances, and Village Districts.
------------------------------------------------------------

Program is free and open to the public.
A light supper will be served --- please make a reservation!

*Note: Monday, 11/18 workshop at New Britain Library has been cancelled.

Supported by a grant from the State Historic Preservation Office,
Department of Economic and Community Development
