Buttonwood Hosts Rising Stars and Classical Piano Concert

 The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts & Cultural Center (TBT)  hosts two musical groups tonight (Friday, Aug. 9) in a concert filled with delicious vocal harmonies and a great family vibe. A portion of the proceeds for the evening’s performance will be used to benefit SOUND for Haiti, hosting trips to inspire and teach Haitian children the joy of music.”

Taubl Family and SOUND Proof Vocal Ensemble

The four youngest Taubl boys (age 17-22) will be performing at The Buttonwood Tree once
again.  They are now known as The Asberry Boys and just won WDRC’s annual competition,
Connecticut’s Got Talent 2013.  Previously they were winners in America's Got Talent and will be opening for the legendary band, Chicago, at the Oakdale Theater on August 20. 

Performing along with the boys at TBT will be members of the SOUND Proof vocal ensemble, offering a wonderful mix of classic oldies and modern pop music.  Entertaining and musically rich, this will be an evening to remember.

The show starts at 8 pm. Children under 16 are free with paid admission by adults. $8 in advance and for students over 16. $10 suggested donation for all others.

Saturday night the stage is set for a Classical presentation by two young talents on piano and guitar. The Barone-Keene Duo present an evening of Italian and central European piano and guitar music. The piano is now in fine shape and is all set for this show. Starts at 8 pm, $10 suggested donation. Reservations are not needed.  Pianist, Kristin Barone and guitarist, Daniel Keene will be performing works by Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ferdinando Carulli, Anton Diabelli, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Hans Haug.
