Youth Services Needs Volunteers

As regular readers of the Eye may know, Middletown Youth Services has been actively promoting a youth development framework called the 40 Developmental Assets as a way for a community to unite in support of its youth. You also may have heard that we're planning a HUGE community event for October 17th at Middletown High School which will be a one act, first of its kind community play written from stories collected from Middletown residents which will be followed by a community conversation. The event will also serve as the release of our newest data from the largest survey ever conducted of Middletown youth.

To make this event a success we need YOU! There are a whole host of volunteer opportunities available and we just posted them all on our blog.

For information around roles in the play that we are recruiting/audtioning for please click here:

Roles vary from 1-2 lines to characters that appear in multiple scenes. No acting experience is required and rehearsals go from Oct 8th through to the show on Oct 17th (which is less than a two week commitment and much less than that depending on how many scenes your role may be in).

If you want to participate off the stage, we have a list of volunteer opportunities here:

It may be as simple as baking some rice krispie treats for performers the week of rehearsals. Every bit counts!

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please feel free to call me (Justin Carbonella) at 860-854-6030 or email at carbonellaj@mpsct.org. We are also posting information on our facebook page and the easiest way to help is just to like and share our posts at facebook.com/mtownysb.
