Conservation District to Host Free Civics 2.0 Workshop Series

The Connecticut River Coastal Conservation District invites you to participate in the free upcoming workshop series, Civics 2.0: The Ins & Outs of Serving on a Town Inland Wetlands Agency.

This two-part workshop will cover topics such as the functions and values of wetlands, the CT Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act, elements of a site plan and site plan review, and what to look for on a site walk.  Workshop sessions will take place virtually on multiple dates and times, including weeknights, and Saturday morning and afternoon (see scheduled times below and other details in the flyer below).

Presenters include Janet Brooks, an experienced wetland attorney, and Kelly Starr, Natural Resource Specialist, Connecticut River Coastal Conservation District. There will also be cameo appearances by town wetland staff and members of town inland wetlands agencies!

For more information, including how to register, please contact civics2.0@yahoo.com.

The series is funded in part by a generous grant from The Rockfall Foundation and in-kind donations from Janet Brooks, the Connecticut River Coastal Conservation District, and program co-sponsors.

The Connecticut River Coastal Conservation District Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Middletown, CT, works to conserve the natural resources of towns in the lower Connecticut River watershed and coastal areas.  For more information about District technical and educational programs and services, visit our website at www.conservect.org/ctrivercoastal.
