What is Good Friday and why is this day important to Christians around the world?

Good Friday represents the day Jesus was crucified. People honor this as "...a day of sorrow, penance, and fasting....," according to Good Friday from Britannica.com. Christians of all faiths regard this day as "...the day Jesus willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins (1 John 1:10)," according to the article "What’s So Good about Good Friday?" from Christianity.com. Good Friday is succeeded by Easter "...the glorious celebration of the day Jesus was raised from the dead, heralding his victory over sin and death and pointing ahead to a future resurrection for all who are united to him by faith (Romans 6:5)according to Christianity.com. As reported in Christianity.com "Good Friday marks the day when wrath and mercy met at the cross."

The Saint Pius X Church located at 310 Westfield Street in Middletown will be holding their annual Stations of the Cross at 12 p.m. outside on the church grounds.  The public is invited to attend.  The event this year will not be a live reenactment of the Stations of the Cross as in previous years prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
