City residents can get free or very low cost protection against the flu, this Saturday, in our neighboring town of Cromwell:
January 27, 2018The flu season this year has seen 1,342 confirmed cases of influenza infection in the state, with 68 in our county, according to the most recent weekly update. About half of those were hospitalized.

Across the United States, Reuters reports that at least 30 children have died from the flu this season.
To protect the public’s health and reduce the spread of the influenza (flu) virus, the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) is teaming up with local health departments to provide free/low cost influenza vaccine on Saturday, January 27th. Our health department is participating with Cromwell, Durham, and Middlefield, to offer the vaccine in Cromwell.
DPH strongly encourages all Connecticut residents over the age of 6 months to get a flu shot.
“For those Connecticut residents who haven’t yet received a flu shot, we hope they will take advantage of these flu clinics,” said DPH Commissioner Dr. Raul Pino. “It is not too late to get protection from the flu this season.”
Vaccine administered to children 18 years of age and younger will be made available free of charge. Vaccine for children comes from the Connecticut Vaccine Program. Managed by DPH, this program provides influenza vaccine free of charge for all children 6 months through 18 years of age. Adult vaccine will be provided at no cost to those without insurance. Residents with insurance should bring their card and will be charged a small administrative fee, but will not be charged out of pocket for the vaccine.
Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness that is spread through the air and by direct contact with respiratory droplets. Typical symptoms of the flu include sudden fever, aching muscles, sore throat, coughing, runny nose, headache, and eye pain.
While anyone, particularly individuals who are not vaccinated, can contract the flu, the illness is especially dangerous for certain groups, including: people aged 65 and older; children younger than 2 years old; people of any age with chronic medical conditions, like asthma, diabetes, congestive heart failure, or lung disease; and pregnant women.

I have a few questions I would like to add. How many people have of those 1300 plus cases had the vaccine and still got the Flu? Also, how many people, all ages, do not get the vaccine and did not get the flu? Of the 30 children and adults that unfortunately passed due to the flu had preexisting issues or other ailments that caused and contributed the Flu to become fatal. And if and when you go to this clinic to get injected with the vaccine ask the person administering it to list all of the expedients/ingredients in the current vaccine as well as have them provide and show you the actual labels and warnings labels that come in the packaging and the boxes they receive that have the bulk product. Don't let them babble about what the CDC says is good for you and not dangerous etc.. Get them to show you all the warning labels. Also, what double-blind back end placebo studies are available not performed by the biotech companies, but by independent 3rd parties not funded by the CDC or these very same companies that show the effectiveness of this vaccine? By the way the CDC and there buddies who are creating and selling their product because this is a for profit business after all and not about actually helping or curing anything or else business will not be good for them. Don't you think it is a conflict of interest that the CDC has patents on many vaccines? And lastly, if you are foolish enough to inject your 6 month old and up with the flu vaccine without out complete knowledge of what your injecting your fragile child with because you have been scared/forced into it by your own town/city else your child will not be able to go into daycare or school can be called many things, take you pick, all of which are illegal the last time i checked. One more thing to add if vaccines are so important our survival how are we not extinct as a species? One more thing the human body is like a car, if you do not take care of it and keep fueling it with processed foods and unhealthy products most I am sure none actually read the labels you will be guaranteed diseases and sickness without a doubt. The human body is designed to rid itself of all types of diseases, if fueled and maintained properly. Once your body becomes acidic then you WILL be more susceptible and will get sick and diseased. Keeping your body in an alkaline state is the only solution not vaccines. And no I do not and will never get vaccinated and I am healthy as an ox simply because I maintain preventive maintenance. Not conveniently take drugs and get vaccinated because I want to continue your self-destructive lifestyle. Do you put diesel gas in a gasoline engine?
Some things to consider before getting a flu vaccine: The CDC claims that the flu vaccine is “safe and effective”; however the Supreme Court has declared all vaccines to be “unavoidably unsafe”. Moreover, the government protects pharmaceutical companies against any claims made for a vaccine injury. They cannot be sued, nor can your doctor or whoever administers the vaccine.
In terms of the flu vaccine’s effectiveness, the CDC data demonstrates that over the past 15 years or so the rate is regularly well below 30%, and this year’s vaccine has been pegged at 10- 12% effective.
A full 85% of flu-like illnesses are actually not the flu, so the vaccine may lend some protection only to the remaining 15% of cases that actually are confirmed influenza cases.

In terms of its safety, it is important to know that there are many serious reported side effects from the flu vaccine, including death, Guillian Barre and SIRVA.
Pregnant women who receive the flu vaccine for the second year in a row are 7.7 times more likely to have a miscarriage. Oddly pregnant women are now being advised to get the flu vaccine (along with infants).
Data indicates that only about 1% of all vaccine injuries are actually reported, but of that 1% a very high proportion are attributable to the flu vaccine. The Vaccine Adverse Effects Reporting System (VAERS) is widely underutilized and many doctors don’t even know it exists. A report must be filed through the system in order to make a claim against the government for vaccine injury compensation.
In order to file a claim you must document your vaccine; if you do not receive the shot at your doctor’s office be sure to have a witness and a receipt from a clinic or pharmacy. Report and document any problems you might experience post vaccination as soon as possible (within hours of any suspected problem).

Keep in mind that pharmaceutical companies are not required to and generally do not use a true placebo in their safety trials. No double blind inert placebo safety study has ever been done on a vaccine. Often another vaccine or the metal added to induce an immune response (the “adjuvant”, which is usually aluminum which is neurotoxic) is considered the “placebo” or “comparator”. It is worth considering the economic component of the vaccine industry. The CDC purchases and holds patents on vaccines, and there exists a very corrupt revolving door policy between it and the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, the pharmaceutical companies provide the highest advertising revenue for television in a non-election year.
