The
City of Middletown will be hosting a free electronics recycling day on
Saturday, June 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Wesley School, 10
Wesleyan Hills Road, Middletown. The collection is open to the public.
Acceptable
items include televisions, computers, printers, monitors and scanners,
as well as cell phones, copiers, fax machines, iPods, PDAs, modems,
stereo and radio equipment, typewriters, video game machines, speakers,
digital cameras, tablets and e-books.
Please do not bring smoke detectors, hazardous materials (lighter fluids, paints, waste oil), appliances, or car batteries.
Middletown
residents who cannot attend this event can bring acceptable electronic
items to the Middletown Recycling Center at the corner of Johnson Street
and North Main Street. The Recycling Center is open Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m., and every Saturday through June, 7:00 a.m. – 12 noon. There is no
charge for electronics.
The Middletown electronics recycling day is open to all CT
residents. Any non-Middletown residents who cannot make it on June 11 should contact their municipal public works departments to find out about their electronics recycling program. According to State Law, every town
must have a free and accessible recycling program for certain
electronics.
