Christmas Eve in the Stable

First Church of Christ, Congregational, in Middletown, will hold its 5 p.m. Christmas Eve service in a barn to capture the rustic atmosphere of the story of Jesus’ birth. The public is warmly invited to celebrate Christ’s Nativity at Daniels Farm at 874 Millbrook Road. Familiar carols will be sung, accompanied by guitar. The congregation will be seated on bales of hay, surrounded by horses, and under the warm glow of Christmas lights hung from the ceiling. The sacrament of Holy Communion will be shared.

To reach Daniels Farm, take Rte 9 north or south to exit 11 and go west on Randolph Road. Turn left on Millbrook Road and go 1.2 miles south. There will be a sign on the left side of the road where you will turn left. There is ample parking near the barn. A flashlight is recommended since the area outside the barn will be dark.

First Church of Christ will hold its traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion service in the church sanctuary at 190 Court Street, Middletown, beginning at 10 p.m. For more information about these Christmas Eve services, call (860) 346-6657, ext. 13 or visit www.firstchurchucc.org
