The CT chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club is running a whitewater kayaking course Friday night (Jan 17th) at Woodrow Wilson Middle School.
There probably won't be any whitewater in the pool, but you can learn basic skills like the Eskimo roll, etc. Plenty of instructors for one-on-one training, but limited spots and registration required.

Join us for this exciting Science Sunday Series: A Hidden World! Each month we'll meet on the 3rd Sunday to learn about the secret world of insects found in Connecticut forests and parks. Be a lifelong learner with us as ecologist and Wesleyan University PhD student, Rob Clark, leads an indoor presentation followed by an outdoor scientific exploration in Highlawn Forest. This series is free and open to the public. Participants are welcome to attend all or individual classes.

Animal Science Adult Education
Winter 2012 FREE offerings from MIDDLETOWN AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CENTER
Classes are being offered to provide continuing education for interested people involved with the fields of agriculture and animal science. Classes will be held on Tuesday nights (with the exception of Thursday, 1/26)* from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There are no fees for any of the classes. Please register early so that we may plan for seating and materials. A minimum of 10 pre-registrants may be required in order to hold most classes.
