Transgender 101 will be presented at Russell Library June 6th. |
Jill is a transgender woman who transitioned two years ago. She works with a LGBTQ afterschool program at a high school in New Haven, and is in the process of organizing support groups for transgender kids and adults.
This presentation is a chance to learn, in a safe and comfortable place, what it means to be transgender.
Jill will discuss:
- The coming out process
- The transition process (G-rated)
- The acceptance process
- Terms and definitions
- Right and wrong questions to ask other transgender people.
There will be a power point presentation to go along with the talk, with about 3 short videos. The duration is approximately one hour, and then she will address questions from the audience.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Russell Library.
