City resident Dr. Helen Evrard will hold a
book-signing event on Saturday, November 9, from 4 to 9 PM at Illiano’s Ristorante,
534 Washington Street. She will be signing copies of her
inspirational book, “Positive Matters:
Words, Quotations, and Stories to Heal and Inspire.”
Evrard’s book , as well as the companion item, Positive
Pulls (developed with city artist Kimberly Barcello), will be available
for purchase. The Pulls are a bag of decorated
popsicle sticks with the inspirational words from the book; quotations, stories
and other information on the word are contained in the book.
“You can use this for insight, reflection, discussion, or
just plain fun,” Evrard notes. “People
really enjoy seeing where the word takes them after they pull a stick, whether
they’re dealing with a serious issue or just simply had a bad day. It can be uncanny at times.”
Evrard wrote the book after experiencing the impact that
positive words had in helping her recover from severe depression.
