Recount Underway at City Hall

Because the 32 vote difference between Democratic Board of Education candidates Franca Biales and Steven Kovach fell within a set margin, a recount of all Board of Education votes began this morning at City Hall.

All BOE candidates were summoned to attend the recount, which Town Clerk Linda Bettancourt estimated would take at least three to four hours.

Bettancourt noted that 32 votes, while a slim margin, was a large enough number of votes that a "flip" in the outcome was unlikely to occur.
