On one end of Main Street Sunday, city police were issuing a summons to appear in court for a misdemeanor to a Wesleyan student who is a member of Food Not Bombs.
On the other end of Main Street, dozens gathered in Union Park for the annual CROP Hunger Walk, a statewide and national effort, to raise funds to help battle hunger.
On Sunday, the CROP walkers strode down man street despite the showers that dampened their route. CROP walks are organized by Church World Service, which provides services around the globe to those in need of nutrition, clean water and help during emergencies.
