Middletown Public Works Employee Told to Remove Campaign Sign

Sources provided information to the Middletown Eye that a Public Works employee was told to remove campaign signs belonging to an endorsed Common Council candidate that had been placed "illegally."  Signs may not be placed on city property.

Complaints about signs placed inappropriately are handled exclusively by the city's zoning enforcement officer, but when contacted, the officer, Ron Baia said that he had received zero complaints, and that he had not ordered, or removed any campaign signs.

Bill Russo, challenge candidate for mayor is Director of the Public Works Department.
