Vibrant Abstract Artist Vincent Baldassano Visits MxCC for Exhibit Opening




Distinguished Connecticut artist Vincent Baldassano visits MxCC’s Pegasus Gallery this Thursday, April 21, from 1 – 3 p.m. to celebrate the opening of his “Works on Paper” exhibit at the College.  Working in abstract mediums - encaustic, oil, acrylic, mixed media, fresco, casein, egg tempera – Baldassano’s bold art has been shown in national and international exhibitions.  His work is in the collections of Pepsi-Cola Corporation, Pfizer Corporation, the New York Federal Building, Wagner College, the University of Oregon, and Savannah College of Art & Design. Baldassano has taught at art schools including the Universities of Connecticut, Cincinnati, and Buffalo, Silvermine School of Art, the National Academy of Design, and Gateway Community College.

Baldassano’s work will be shown in the Pegasus Gallery through May 16.  The gallery, which is free and open to the public, is located within the Jean Burr Smith library in Chapman Hall on the Middletown campus.  The library is open Mondays through Thursdays 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Free parking is available on campus.
