MHS Team Wins at Chem Olympiad

A team of eight Middletown High students took first place in the non-AP category at the Regional Chemistry Olympiad last Thursday (March 16) at UConn. According to Ms. Roberta Downer, an MHS science teacher and the team's coach, the team was made up of: Terry Nyguen, Haley Rugh, Hannah Breton, Sam Angle, Richa Gupta, Drew Cietek, Lizzy Paquette and Randy Hamchand. Downer notes that the team competed against 24 other teams, and that "Randy Hamchand was one of the top 29 of 218 competitors to earn a spot to compete for a chance to take the national exam in April."
