This is a great step forward for our city to develop the most cost effective and efficient parking plan; that will lead to strong economic growth of our downtown businesses, with safe, clean and accessible parking. This collabortive public & private partnership selection process, involving the city and our Chamber of Commerce, has led to the selection of an extremely qualified candiate for the position of Parking Director. As Minority Leader for our Common Council, I wish Mr. Hartley congratulations and our support for your future endeavors.
Welcome to Middletown's tribal system of City Government! In addition to intelligence, honesty and a strong work ethic, I hope you have a powerful talisman to guide you, a cast iron stomach for the digestion of boiler plate, and a thick slippery skin, too.
Doesn't any statements get checked for errors. I am referring to the selection of the Parking Director. It states that the closing deadline for applications was October 23, 2010, and the affirmation of the selection should be able to be at the March 2, 2010 council meeting.
That doesn't make sense to me and I'm very sure I'm not the only one to see that error. Oh well, it's Middletown!!!!
What exactly does a "Parking Director" direct? Do parking spaces occasionally stray from their designated duties? Do the parallels and the diagonals not get along? Do parking arcades forget their lines? (Cute,eh?) It seems we pay for parking to pay for the people to empty the coins in the meter-and ticket scofflaws (unless you got the juice). Just wonderin'. (A degree in finance?)
