Middletown, especially around the Wesleyan campus, will be filled with writers of all levels of experience, skill and enthusiasm, as the
Wesleyan Writers Conference kicks off today. Writers gathered tonight for an opening reception, and the parsing of words takes place in earnest tomorrow. A new feature of the conference is a one-day intensive workshop on Thursday June 18, with a full immersion in writerly topics.
Instructors for this year's conference include Roxana Robinson, Alexander Chee, Ravi Shankar and Lis Harris.
