From Middlesex Community College
Seventeen Middlesex County Libraries, in conjunction with the Connecticut Library Consortium, have partnered to provide free environmental programs, such as “how-to” workshops, author talks, community forums, panel discussions, exhibits and other family-friendly activities. The Middlesex County Community Foundation presented the group with a grant to help fund these activities as part of a “Greening Our Valley” campaign.
The capstone event, Green Fest will be held Sunday, May 17th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in Chapman Hall, Middlesex Community College, 100 Training Hill Road in Middletown. The college is handicapped accessible and there is plenty of free parking. All ages are invited to this free festival.
Featured at this community event will be exhibit booths sponsored by participating libraries and outside organizations including educational materials, giveaways, games, and more; circus-themed food; discussions on Connecticut outdoor living led by Rachael Sunny from the DEP and gardening expert Patrice Barrett; and a performance of ARTFARM’s Circus for a Fragile Planet. Bring your own water bottle for a chance to win an eco-surprise.
Enjoy a great afternoon of family-friendly activities while supporting libraries and our green future.
