Kelley Sweeney Nomination to Planning and Zoning Unanimously Approved

Kelly Sweeney was unanimously approved as the newest member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, at last night's Common Council meeting. Sweeney will fill the seat of alternate, vacated by Shanay Fulton when Fulton was elected to be a regular commissioner.

Council members Gene Nocera and Ed McKeon enthusiastically endorsed her past and future contributions to the City. Mayor Florsheim asked Sweeney to say a few words, which she did. "I’m honored, I’m humbled by this appointment, thank you to all who have supported me over the past few years."

Sweeney's first Planning and Zoning Commission meeting will be tonight, at which the Commission will consider multiple proposals, including one to open a farm winery, one to develop elderly housing, and one to approve a liquor store on Washington Street.
