Florsheim Asks Giuliano To Sign Clean Elections Pledge

  1. Candidate Florsheim is acting appropriately by signing this campaign pledge. Let's home Councilman Giuliano will also do the right thing. I hope Florsheim wins so he could clean City Hall and make needed changes to the way things are done at City Hall, in the Mayor's Office & the City Council. I doubt if Giuliano will make the needed changes at City Hall because he is a product of the City Hall patronage after being Mayor for 6 years and as a member of the City Council. Good Luck Ben.

  3. What an encouraging statement that Candidate Florsheim made. The public needs more candidates & elected officials like him. The city needs new & young blood to reinvigorate City Hall not old and tired, apathetic people who will not make any changes to the way things are done in elective politics. These elected officials just want to maintain the status quo and not shake things up. They want the city to move at snail's pace.

  4. Steve Fagole,
If you want to shake things up, vote for the Republican slate. Re electing the same party that has been in charge since the 90's is exactly what "Status quo" is. Since then, my taxes have gone up hundreds every year. The wasteful spending is enabled by the mayor and the city council. Not the city employees.
The Democrats were always the "tax and spend" party. They have transformed to the "spend, then tax" party.

  5. There needs to another purge of all of the elected officials & appointed officials at City Hall who perpetrated all of the patronage appointments over the past 60-70 years. These patronage philosophy has gotten the city anywhere. For example, during the Democratic Primary there were two longtime council members who did not receive the endorsement of the town committee they ran on the petitioning party line. These two councilmen have been on the City Council since the early 1990's. They were defeated and they were replaced by new people who have never run for public office before. The city needs new faces and who would bring a different perspective to the way things are done. I doubt if Councilman & Candidate Giuliano would bring a fresh outlook to the city. He will not. He is beholden to all of his contacts at City Hall and elsewhere. They want something from him in return to getting elected. The GOP Candidates who are running with him are just as bad. They do not bring any new ideas just more of the same nonsense they always claim at election time. Candidate & Councilman Giuliano along with his Trump like party needs to be sent to early retirement where they will not cause any more harm. The people of Middletown should not have to hear any more of their negative & Trump like comments. Giuliano & his team needs to be sent this message of defeat come Election Day .
