Readers Theater will present The Clean House by Sarah Ruhl Monday, June 10 at 7pm in the Hubbard Room.
A comic drama that mixes fantasy and reality, The Clean House tells the story of five disparate characters. The story begins as Lane, a doctor in her early fifties, hires a Brazilian woman named Matilde to be her live-in maid. As Matilde and Lane try to negotiate their working relationship, Matilde dreams of her deceased parents and tries to think of the perfect joke.
The play was a 2005 Pulitzer Prize in Drama Finalist, and won the 2003/4 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.
Readers Theater is directed by Anne Cassady and Richard Kamins. Readers Theater is live drama enacted by local actors.
