---------------
Are you interested in running for local office in the City of Middletown this year?
Have you ever wanted to serve the City of Middletown as Mayor or be elected to the Common Council, Board of Education, Planning and Zoning, Board of Assessment Appeals or sit as the City Treasurer? If so, the time to decide is now as the City gears up for municipal elections this year.
In order to run and be elected to local office, you must have your name on the ballot in November. One way to do this is to be nominated by one of the major parties (Democratic or Republican) in town that have established ballot lines for all offices. Alternatively, there are also “minor parties” such as The Working Families Party that have had ballot lines as well. State law governs all nominations and each political party has individual rules related to the nomination process.
If you are interested in running as a Democratic candidate in this year’s municipal election for any of the elected positions mentioned above and listed below, please submit your name, contact information (email and best phone) along with the office that interests you or that you would like to run for again for again by June 10th, 2019 to Dems.Middletown@gmail.com.
On this year's ballot will be:
- Mayor (1) 2019-2023
- Common Council (8) 2019-2023
