On Saturday, September 8th, dozens of volunteers and advocates across the region will join together for Thousands of #DoorsforJustice, a day of action for activists across the state to step up and fight for issues of economic, racial, social, women’s, environmental, disability, and immigrant justice.
Linda Sarsour, an organizer of the National Women's March, will speak at our location, along with the local leader of the Poor People's Campaign, Bishop John Seldors. Volunteers will come together for a rally and program in the morning, then volunteers can choose to join groups who are doorknocking, doing voter registration, or other activities highlighting the causes of the rally.
The #DoorsforJustice event in our city is part of a statewide day of action in solidarity with similar events in 6 other cities across Connecticut.
Activists across the country know that 2018 is one election year they can't afford to sit out, with progressives’ most fundamental values of justice, equality, and dignity on the line. As a broad spectrum of volunteers and organizations, activists will each contribute in the best ways they can and embrace their collective struggle.
