CT DOT Information Meeting On Proposed Changes to Route 9

While this plan would certainly help move traffic through Middletown on Route 9, as well as reduce accidents and pollution from idling vehicles, it involves more than removing traffic lights.

The raised southbound lane, the removal of certain exit options, and the impacts on downtown traffic also need to be understood and visualized.  Conditions for pedestrians and bicyclists will be affected too.

The public is highly encouraged to attend this event and learn about the proposal.
