The concert will feature Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass – both extraordinary choral masterworks. For this festive event, Joseph D’Eugenio will conduct both the 70-voice Chorale and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra.

Starting January 26, GMChorale will rehearse each week on Tuesday at Cromwell’s Bethany Lutheran Church, just off I-91 and Rt. 9. To schedule an audition, please call ((860) 633-6198) or email Margie Livengood.

The GMChorale is widely known for its fine performances of the world’s great classical music and contemporary works, many commissioned by the ensemble.  Its most recent commission, the oratorio “Letter from Italy, 1944” by Sarah Meneely-Kyder, has received critical acclaim.  The moving documentary about the oratorio, narrated by Meryl Streep, will receive an encore broadcast on CPTV late this spring and is available on the Chorale’s website.

GMChorale is supported by many generous patrons and by funding from the Middletown Commission on the Arts, the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, the DECD/Connecticut Office of the Arts.  Corporate funders include Aetna, McPhee Electric, MiddleOak, Pratt & Whitney/UTC, Pfizer, Travelers and Unilever.  More information about the region’s leading choral group HERE.
