George Mastrogiannis-Drums
George Mastrogiannis, a native of Connecticut began playing the drums at 12 years old. His mother Florence saw a need for an expressive outlet that would direct all of his boundless energy. George started playing in garage bands with his friends throughout high school. After high school George made his way to Los Angeles to study at Musicians Institute where he studied with many of the best musicians in Southern California. He returned from LA with a plan to practice and take any gig that came his way. Playing in numerous bands and clubs in New Haven for two years he decided that he wanted to study jazz and in 1998 entered the Hartt School of Music where he immediately began playing with his professors on a weekly basis. George graduated from Hartt in 2002. Since that time he has performed with many different musicians and performers. Some of these include: Bob Mintzer, Bob Berg, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, Warren Bryd, Noah Baerman, Chris Morrison, Jimmy Green, Abraham Burton, Phil Bowler, Mike Palin’s The Other Orcestra, Nobuki Takamen, George Lesiw and many others. His musical philosophy is that music can enrich our lives at any level of ability. You must first have a love of music, and a love of learning.

Sinan Bakir "Solo Electric"
Saturday, December 12 @ 8:00 pm
$10
Turkish jazz guitar virtuoso Sinan Bakir is noted by
the music critics and audiences for his inspired and engaging live
performances.
"Jazz critic Owen McNally describes guitarists music as "engaging, clear, uncluttered, accessible and resonate with a pleasant sense of layered mystery, seasoned with savory hints of the exotic." while he underlines "Bakir's tone just by itself makes him distinctive, in addition, of course, to his fluent playing and writing."
Leading jazz website AllAboutJazz describes a performance by the Sinan Bakir Trio as " Bakir's inspired soloing feeds off of the energy coming from his trio mates, with lines possessing laser-like focus." where jazz critic Rob Young states "burns slowly as it spreads evenly on this canvas as the trio swings gently through the passages in the spirit of jazz Turkish style". As music writer Richard Kamins sums it up "Just let these sounds wash over you; good music can excite and soothe and this is good music."
Concert will feature original music, standards as well as completely improvised pieces.

Peter Loffredo "A Child's Christmas in Wales"
Sunday, December 13 @ 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm
Donation is by non-perishable food item for Amazing Grace Food Pantry.
Connecticut Heritage Productions (CHP) is proud to present Dylan Thomas' holiday classic A Child's Christmas in Wales. Peter Loffredo brings to life these sometimes amusing, sometimes touching memories of childhood in the early 1900s. Holiday music adds to the nostalgia with songs of the season.
This series of warm childhood remembrances not only reflects the Victorian era in Wales, but speaks to the magic of holidays,
to the eternal joys of family and friends, and to the human condition
in all times. Dylan's masterful poetic prose as well as his gorgeous use
of the English language makes this a holiday
show for the whole family. The performance is suitable for adults and
children old enough to sit through a live performance. Each show is
just under an hour, but can last in your memory forever.
Start a new family tradition!
