Book Discussion Postponed to November 18th

Contemporary Voices - the African American Experience in Poetry and Prose Book Discussion Has Been Postponed.

The "Great Reads: A Book Discussion Series with Hedda Kopf", set for Wednesday, November 4, will be postponed to November 18th at 7:00 pm. It will still take place at the Hubbard Room of the Russell Library.
Hedda Kopf is concentrating on African American authors this season.
Citizen by Claudia Rankine is the only book to ever win a National Book Critics Circle Award in two categories: poetry and criticism. A New York Times reviewer describes Rankine as “the poet as conceptual artist, in full mastery of her craft.” Timely, disturbing and deeply moving, this collection “throws a Molotov cocktail at the notion that a reduction of injustice is the same as freedom.”
Hedda Kopf lectured on Women’s Studies and Literature at Quinnipiac University for many years. She now teaches at the Institute for Learning in Retirement and is the author of Understanding Anne Frank's The Diary of a Young Girl. Ms. Kopf has created and facilitated book discussions for the Connecticut Humanities Council and the Southern CT Library Council and has led book discussions at Russell Library since 1985.
This series is sponsored by the Friends of the Russell Library.
The Hubbard Room at Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown.
