Middletown Garden Club Recreates Russell Library Garden

The Middletown Garden Club is recreating the beloved flower garden at the corner of Broad and Court Streets, which was destroyed last year in the course of building repairs.  Club members Sally Cornish, Jennifer Saines, Kathy Green, Mary and Ted Xenelis, Kathy Stromm, Melissa Roberts and Maria Madsen Holzberg worked with Nancy DeBruhle, Jane Harris and the Russell Library Facilities staff to plan and implement the project.

The Middletown Garden Club has a long history of contributing to the beautification of Russell Library—inside and out.  To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the Club is exhibiting panels throughout the Library that document the history of the Club and highlight their projects and activities through the years. The Club will also display memorabilia and books written by current and past members.  (Photo by Jason Neely.)

  1. I'm happy to see that they've replaced the garden and I'm looking forward to seeing it in bloom!
