Buttonwood Has Sell Out Show - Jazz and Comedy Round Out Weekend

The Buttonwood Tree hosted a successful art opening for Jacqueline Jones, and then nearly 70 people aged 4 to 84 came through to hear Kerri Powers and Eric Lichter sing and play guitar. At least three people came from New York for the show, not unusual for the Buttonwood audiences. A Wesleyan alumnus, who has discovered the quality of musicianship and intimacy of TBT, came from Long Island to attend Buttonwood's weekend shows. He and his wife have come every few months for the past few years and are testament to the fact that TBT shows are worth traveling for.

Last night the audience rose to their feet asking for more of Kerri's sultry vocals, so smooth and gentle. Both musicians are gifted with uniquely beautiful, delicate voices and write poetically - it was simply lovely.

Tonight Jerry Aiyathurai leads the 2nd Line Quartet - Jazz at 8pm - reservations are suggested.

Tomorrow, the Great Make Believe Society IMPROV is at 7. This group of young, quick-witted actors knocks it out of the park every month! It's a barrel of laughs - so get your joy on and come on over!

NOTE:  The Free Poets Collective has cancelled their performance for this afternoon.

The Buttonwood Tree is at 605 Main Street, next to It's Only Natural market. 860.347.4957
