MxCC Students Exhibit Research, Academic Talent on April 24

MxCC’s Founders Hall will be transformed by students into a showcase for their research, academic accomplishments, and overall dedication to their fields of study.  This “Academic Convivium,” which will take place Friday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is the first formal event the College has hosted to highlight the rigorous work students undertake during their time at MxCC.  The public is encouraged to attend this impressive display of academic excellence.

The event will feature student presenters from MxCC’s Honors Program as well as from many departments and degree programs including sociology, engineering, biotechnology, and human services. Throughout the day, 46 students will be on hand in the Founders Hall Pavilion, the cafeteria, and the student lounge to display and discuss their projects.

“Our students conduct research, produce creative work, and apply sophisticated problem solving approaches to complex issues,” said Dr. Anna Wasescha, president of MxCC.  “The Academic Convivium gives them a way to share the outcomes of their work with the whole college.  It also recognizes the talent and creativity of the faculty who advise students on their projects.”
