LOCATION SHIFT TO THE SOUTH END OF HARBOR PARK
The Final Performance of the Series is taking place under the pavilion located between the Mattabesset Canoe Club and the City Boathouse. This location is about 200 yards south of the location we've been using this year. There is lawn seating around the pavilion.
The Middletown Symphonic Band closes out the 2014 Summer Sounds season with a concert of popular tunes celebrating their 35th anniversary on Tuesday, September 2nd beginning at 7 pm.
Kickin Chicken, serving chicken/fish/pork chops/sandwiches and more, will be onsite offering food to feed your body while the music feeds your soul.
Performances take place at Harbor Park this year. It's a great place to hear the music, enjoy the views of and along the Connecticut River, and have a picnic! It's all free and brought to you by the Middletown Commission on the Arts.
Rain location is the South Church sanctuary at the corner of Main and Union Sts. across from the South Green. If unsure of the weather/location, visit arts2go.org for an update.
What time is the performance? I wish all news articles would remember to post the essential information: Date, Time, Location. It's not just here at Middletown Eye, but it happens all over the web and in local newspaper- the authors forget to publish crucial information that allow people to make a decision (by checking their calendar) on whether or not to attend. Please please please stop forgetting this. And please don't say that the information can be found elsewhere by googling something. If you really want to help the arts, then be sure to include the basics in EVERY article promoting or commenting on a performance...it doesn't matter if it is repeated.
ReplyDelete7 p.m. is the start time.
ReplyDeleteMy apologies, I copy the info from arts2go.org (the definitive arts & entertainment guide for Middletown) and it has been an oversight on my part to include the time.
