Middletown Cooperative Preschool Event to Welcome Alumni

The Middletown Cooperative Preschool, fondly known as "the Co-op" or MCP, was founded over 45 years ago and has since thrived in a beautiful space at the First United Methodist Church.  It is a unique kind of preschool where classes are small and meet only in the morning, parent involvement is expected in the classroom and in the running of the school, and the emphasis is on learning through play.

In September, the Co-op will embark on a new era as it moves to Cross Street AME Zion Church on West Street.  Because this means dismantling the classrooms on Old Church Street, the Co-op will have an Open House to allow past families to come visit one last time.  Wendy Berlind, head teacher for over 35 years, will be present to welcome folks and share memories and photographs.

The Alumni Open House will be on Sunday, June 8, 1pm-3pm at the preschool.  Please RSVP to middletowncoop@gmail.com.

In addition, the Co-op is running a fundraising campaign to offset the cost of constructing a new playground space and moving equipment to the new location.  Alumni and friends can watch a video about the campaign and make a donation online.

The teachers and families of the Co-op look forward to many more years of serving the Middletown community in this new space.
