Tonight, Thursday, July 18, is opening night of ARTFARM’s Shakespeare in the Grove production of Much Ado About Nothing. Tonight’s performance is “Pay-What-You-Can” and represents a great opportunity for anyone unable to afford the usual ticket price to see the show for, well, whatever you feel that you can afford.

The performance begin at 7 pm, with live music by Canadian singer/songwriter Layah Jane beginning at 6 pm. Layah Jane is familiar to many for having created the powerful and poignant soundtrack to the award-winning documentary Gasland. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic and enjoy professional music and theater in the beautiful Cedar Grove overlooking the Connecticut River Valley.

Performances continue July 18 – 21 and 25 - 28 in the Grove at Middlesex Community College in Middletown. Every evening features a different musician or musical group, highlighting the best of the region's folk, jazz and world music.

Tickets for all performances other than tonight are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Middlesex Community College is located at 100 Training Hill Road, Middletown, CT. Sunday, July 21 is “South Asian Night”. In honor of our neighbors at the Connecticut Valley Hindu Temple, anyone identifying themselves as a member of Connecticut’s South Asian community will be entered into a raffle for two generous gift certificates – one provided by Udupi Bhavan Restaurant, the other by Haveli Restaurant. Thursday, July 25 is “Medical Heroes Night”, at which anyone identifying themselves as a medical professional will be admitted for half price.
