From the Police Department
----------------
The Middletown Police Department’s SROs and Patrol Officers responded to a call for assistance from the staff at the school. When officers arrived the student was uncooperative and combative. The officers tried to take the student into custody and during the arrest was the student “drive” stunned one time with a Taser. The student was then compliant with officer’s directions and the arrest continued without further incident.
No one was injured.
Due to the fact that a juvenile was involved we are only able to release a small amount of information.
This measure is in place to protect the juvenile.
No one was injured? I am just hearing about this incident and I'm imagining others were hurt as they watched and experienced this scene occur.
ReplyDeleteThe most important sentence in these two paragraphs reads: "...and during the arrest was the student “drive” stunned one time..."
ReplyDeletePlease check your grammar so we know what actually happened!
What is wrong with MPD that they tase a 12 year old? They outnumbered the kid for goodness sakes! They are tase happy. Nocera ought to have kahunas to throw mpd out of schools like Raczka did.
ReplyDeleteAbout the grammar, it should read, "...during the arrest the student was 'drive' stunned..." ('was' in wrong place).
ReplyDeleteAnd in case you're wondering what that means (I had to look it up - from Wikipedia "Taser" entry): "Drive Stun - Some Taser models, particularly those used by police departments, also have a 'Drive Stun' capability, where the Taser is held against the target without firing the projectiles, and is intended to cause pain without incapacitating the target. 'Drive Stun' is 'the process of using the EMD weapon [Taser] as a pain compliance technique.'"
