What's Going On at the Buttonwood Tree!

This week at the Buttonwood Tree... Relaxation, inspiration, & fun!

Tonight (3/5): Spice up your Tuesday night with Laughter Playshop  at 6 pm: relieve stress and have fun! Dress casually and comfortably, and be prepared to move and laugh! Followed by the Happy Healthy Vegetarian Potluck at 7 pm. Both are totally free!

The Buttonwood Tree's Happiness Project continues with a free screening of the film HAPPY on Wednesday, 3/6. starting at 7 pm. This 76 minute independent film is a documentary about the art and science of happiness. It combines real life stories of happy people from around the world and powerful interviews with the leading scientists in happiness research.

The first Thursday of March (3/7) means Open Mic with Bob Gotta at 7 pm! There is a $5 suggested donation, but no one is turned away from Buttonwood events for lack of funds. Come play and be heard. Bring your own instrument or play our piano or congas. Join the fun and express yourself!

On Friday: a folk double bill! TERRY KITCHEN & MARA LEVINE and GAIL WADE are performing at 8 pm. Award-winning Boston contemporary folk singer/songwriter Terry Kitchen joins voices with acclaimed New Jersey vocalist Mara Levine for a sound that’s both intensely dynamic and uniquely beautiful. Gail Wade has been performing publicly since the early 1980s. A strong guitarist and clawhammer banjo player with a rich and soulful voice, Gail brings forth fresh renditions of folk, blues, old-time, bluegrass and swing favorites. Tickets are $10.

Our Saturday mornings are packed, as always, with events to strengthen your body and nourish your soul. Qigong starts at 7:30, followed by Community Yoga at 8:45, both free events. The "Aligned with Source" workshop led by Spiritual & Holisitic Healer Annaita Gandhy starts at 10:30; the theme this week is 'Hitting Rock Bottom and Coming Up Trumps!'. There is a $5 suggested donation.

Then, on Saturday night, the BRAD COLE TRIO will be joining us at the Buttonwood at 8 pm. The songbook of acclaimed singer songwriter Brad Cole addresses the ups and downs of the human condition with both wit and raw insights. Cole delivers soulful renditions of songs from his 3 albums with an eclectic blend of Americana over a grooving bossa/rock foundation. Cole will be accompanied by Philip Sterk on pedal steel and Craig Akin on upright bass. Tickets are $10.
