Do you ever wonder what greenhouse gases and carbon emissions have to do with you? Because of the choices we make in travel, where we live, and what we buy, each of us creates a significant footprint on the environment.
The Jonah Center (in cooperation with Middlesex Community College and Wesleyan) is hosting a fun opportunity to learn about your “carbon footprint.” Come to discover which of our activities have the greatest impact and calculate the size of your household’s footprint in a judgment-free, interactive way.
Participants will use personal computers available in the language lab to calculate the relationships between common consumer products, every day activities, and carbon emissions that trap heat in the atmosphere and intensify climate change. We’ll also discuss simple ways we can tread a bit lighter for the sake of future generations. Leading the program are Pamela Frost and Joy Hansen, members of the Sustainability Committee at Middlesex Community College.
Space is limited, so advance registration is requested. To register, reply to this email, or call 860-398-3771, or send a message from the Jonah Center website.
