Kiwanis and The Middletown Press kick off the 20th year of the Warm The Children Program

Warm The Children is neighbors helping neighbors. This year The Middletown Kiwanis will team up again with The Middletown Press to serve more than 600 Middletown area children, each receiving up to $80 ($40 if under age 2) in new winter clothing and footwear.
The families are referred to the Warm The Children Coordinator by the public elementary and middle schools in these communities and by some social service agencies such as CRT’s Head Start program, Even Start, Haddam Public Health and the Middlesex Hospital Family Advocacy programs.
Volunteer shoppers assist the families on their shopping trip to Walmart in Cromwell. No money exchanges hands – Walmart bills the Kiwanis for the purchases.

Funds to pay for clothing come mostly from individual donations. All donation dollars are used to purchase clothing and footwear only, nothing is skimmed off for administrative costs as The Middletown Press and the Kiwanis Club absorb all expenses. There is no payroll – the program is all volunteer.
If you would like to help keep Middletown’s neediest children warm, please mail your tax deductible donation with the coupon, or with the information below to:
