Next Time, Try Coffee

Adapted from the Police blotter.
---------------------
On 10-05-2012, OFC Lemieux was assisting OFC DeFrance on a motor vehicle stop. Our vehicles were facing East on Rapallo Ave. The vehicle came around the corner at a high rate of speed. The operator lost control, almost striking the vehicle that we had stopped. OFC DeFrance and Passacatando went to check on the driver. OFC_Passacantando then could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her.

The driver would not admit to consuming alcohol, however Lemieux also could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. She agreed to take the standardized field sobriety tests, failed them and was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

She later admitted to drinking one half of a bottle of hand sanitizer.
[Note added. The Middletown Police contacted The Eye, and other news outlets, to alert us to the following: hand sanitizers are toxic and people drink them. Teenagers drawn to the alcohol have poisoned themselves enough to end up in the emergency room.]
At Middletown Police Headquarters, a chemical analysis of her breath was given at 12:58 HRS with a result of .1764. A second test was administered at 13:29 HRS with a result of .1577.

The driver was issued Summons MC045863 for 14-227a Driving While Intoxicated and 14-230e Failure to Drive Right. She was released on a $500.00 non-surely bond.

  1. Making fun of someone with an obvious alcohol addiction is reprehensible. I expected more from this writer.

  2. How did this writer "make fun" of this person? The article reads like a police report. The author of the article added a warning about the consumption of alcohol based products. You seem to be looking to be offended.
