When people and ideas come together this fall
to participate
in Russell Library's planning project, good things will happen for
the Library
and for all of Middletown.
Everyone who cares about Middletown and Russell
Library can
be part of the Library's planning project.
You and your ideas are welcome because those ideas will
shape the
future. Attend one of the
Library's
Public Forums on either Wednesday evening, October 10, at 6:00
p.m., or on
Saturday morning, November 10, at 9:00 a.m.
The forums will be led by Alan Gray, a planning
consultant
with extensive experience in libraries, the business world, and in
education.
Russell Library has been bringing together
people and ideas
for almost 140 years, playing an active role as a "Gateway to the
Future
of Middletown." Its
programs,
resources, and community involvement have made a difference in
Middletown's
educational, entertainment, and social environment.
As Middletown grows and develops, Russell
Library must also
evolve. For that reason,
the Library has
formed a Strategic Planning Committee comprised of Library staff
members,
Library trustees, and members of the Middletown community to
undertake this
project.
In the coming weeks, planning consultant Alan
Gray will be
conducting public forums, focus groups, and interviews to learn
how Russell
Library can best serve the Middletown community in the coming
years. Plan to come to
one of the Library's two
public forums. The forums
are open to
all members of the public. If
you are
invited to participate in a focus group, please attend and do
speak up. In addition, you
can help in the planning
effort by completing a brief survey that will be available in
print and online.
