Peter Hatch, Director of Gardens and Grounds at
As Director since 1977, Hatch has been responsible for the maintenance, interpretation and conservation of its famous horticultural and
vegetable gardens. He has written several previous books on Jefferson ’s
gardens, and is an advisor to First Lady Michelle Obama’s White House kitchen
garden.
