Performances and Artist Reception at The Buttonwood Tree

 

Mad Satta - Friday August 10 at 8pm

Mad Satta is a rapidly rising soul/jazz group comprised of some of the tri-state areas most talented young musicians, founded by vocalist Joanna Teters and upcoming jazz bass player, Ben Carr.

Kerri Powers' Pieces: Art Reception - Saturday August 11 at 4pm

Kerri Powers, a singer-songwriter and visual artist originally from Southeastern Massachusetts, has been writing songs and drawing/painting since she was eight years old. Her mixed media work reveals her ability to synthesize her different passions; she asserts: “feeling fulfilled soulfully is to allow for total freedom via artistic expression. I have always had a passion for utilization of color combined with an abstract expressionism approach.”

Ricky Alfonso Group - Saturday August 11 at 8pm

Trumpeter and vocalist Ricky Alfonso and his group will return to The Buttonwood Tree for another night of powerful and swinging jazz music. A perennial in the Hartford music scene, Ricky’s group showcases tight, joyful and uplifting jazz music guaranteed to please the well seasoned and casual jazz fans alike.
Joining Ricky will be Chris Casey on piano, Matt Dwonszyk on bass and Tido Holtkamp on drums. Join us for an evening of swing, bop and blues with some style.
